A NEW YEAR AND A NEW LOOK FOR KITCHEN GARDEN

January 10, 2017

Established in 1989, Kitchen Garden has seen many changes in appearance over the years, always with the aim of keeping the brand fresh but still retaining its traditional feel.

Our latest look coincides with a change in legislation which requires us to put nutritional information on our jars, so it seemed a good opportunity to look at what our customers want from us and to reflect that in a new design.

Working with students from Gloucestershire University who ran a number of focus groups and customer surveys we established that those buying products from our range appreciate that they are:

Made by hand in small batches

Made in the Cotswolds

Made from top quality ingredients sourced locally when possible

Treats - not just everyday commodities

The new labels (as well as company brochure and website) were designed by Oliver Moinet.  A graduate from the renowned BA Illustration course at University College Falmouth, Oliver is a freelance graphic designer and lettering artist.  Our brief to him was to illustrate fruits, vegetables and items found in a traditional English kitchen garden, and to make this relevant to the 21st Century with vibrant colouring that would make the jars 'jump off the shelf'.  Oliver's illustrations are reminiscent of fine Victorian botanical drawings and the lettering is classic but easily readable.
